My folio from the kick off call
Love it!!
I downloaded these 3 Freebies: Junk Journal Kit, 20 Junk Journal Embellishments: You can make with your Cricut and interdependence – a mindful art practice. I also signed up for the Mixed Media Collage Clusters Email Class.
The cool thing that I’ve learned is not to throw away envelopes. Keep them to make junk journals.
My most memorable retreat moment is watching Einat Kessler’s presentation: Junk Journal from Start to Finish. That’s why I joined the retreat to learn to make a junk journal, and even though I haven’t done it yet, at least I now know how to make one. I just have to get some white cardstock to print out the pages. I can’t wait to start making some Junk Journals.
The biggest way that the retreat has transformed my creative journal making is to look at everything with a creative lens to see their potential in making junk…

The most memorable moment for me was seeing friends join me. I mean, you post the links but you never know who's going to click. I had my sister (Dona) as well as friends from the SACs group (Susan Tremper & Mary Reynolds).
All of you have done such a great job and its been my pleasure to sit back and watch how excited you are and how well you all have done! You guys ROCK!
So many great ideas, but I so enjoyed watching Kristi's lunch and learns. Over the years I've lost interest in scrapbooking a bit and I'm inspired to dig out my "stuff" and use my treasures in my journals!
What a lovely way to start my day. Layering is something I try to do in my art journal so this was so much fun! I often forget how to do the steps. Can't wait for your clusters workshop tomorrow!

For me, Therese Bradley's expressive art presentation was an "Aha!" moment. I had never really put together journaling and art together on one page before seeing her presentation. I'm also one of those people who is hesitant to put some things in writing because I don't want anyone else to read them, so seeing how she uses the Milagro (I have no idea how to spell that!) heart to cover the words was a game changer. Thank you Therese!
My top picks are Monique’s book pages, Einat’s junk journal and Kristi’s envelope pockets.
Einat’s resources are brilliant and this one is a favourite.
BINGO

One of the coolest things I learned was watching Einat put her junk journal together. The tearing of the papers and adding accordian folds. This is why I join this retreat. I learn so much from everyone and inspire me to think outside my 'sheltered' brain.
I have not been able to find Monique's video. Has anyone seen it, if so where did you find it. Please help, I don't want to miss it.
Where can I find the videos? I’ve looked everywhere. Thanks
Hello! I'm a NC native, but have lived in Panama (my dad was in the Army) and Okinawa, Japan (my hubby is a retired Marine). I have 3 adult kids and two 1-year-old dogs. I'm the full time caregiver for my mother (who lives with us) and for my husband. Junk journaling preserves my sanity! Art journaling helps me maintain my balance during each day. I also enjoy gardening and volunteering at church and in the community.
I loved this presentation. Can't wait until I am able to collect enough envelopes to make this.
Bingo, third line across

I've downloaded the following freebies:
the Artisan Pass freebie from Belinda Basson
the Coffee Paper printable from Belinda Basson
Mixed Media Inspiration Cards freebie from Consie Sindet
Think Like An Artist from Therese Bradley
Layers Revealed Art Journal Journey from Therese Bradley
Bingo

I don't really know what it means by "resource" so I'm going to tell my favorite Artisan Pass bonus. It's the Ladies of Steampunk Extension pack from Michelle Caldwell. These papers and ephemera are so pretty!

I think my favorite resource this year is the Art of Binding from Einat Kesslar. It's something I'll be able to refer back to as I make different journals and try different ways to bind them. Thank you, Einat!
And Thank you to all the speakers for all the resources! They are all very helpful in my creative journey!

5 Ways to Use Gel Prints--Kassandra Louise
Layered Envelope Pockets Junk Journal Cover--Kristi Stone
The Ladies of Steampunk Planner Insert--Michelle Caldwell
How do I show my completed Bingo card?
Ohhh all of them!! But I cannot wait to do the Layered envelopes with Kristi Stone, Junk Journal from start to finish with Einat Kessler, and finally My Ladies of Steampunk with Michelle Caldwell! sooooo many to choose from how do you choose?
I really liked the McDoll heads, the Strawberry Vine, and the Lined paper bundle. Such a variety!
I'm enjoying all the presenters. I'm a hugh fan of Einat, Kristi and Monique and look forward all the other sessions
Loved Kristi's Lunch and Learn about sentimental items. I think we all came away with a lot of ideas on how to preserve those memories. Thank you!
The presentations I am looking forward to the most today are Einat Kessler's (always enjoy her projects), Kristi Stones Layered Envelope Pocket journal, and Monique's Using Book Pages. I will enjoy Pam's and Therese's presentations too. Always get something inspirational from them.
The three presentations I'm most excited for are Belinda Basson's Creating Layers, Kristi's Layered Envelope Pockets, and Einat Kesslar's Junk Journal Start to Finish. But I'm looking forward to watching and trying all of them!
I'll be here today and tomorrow to help out. If you have any questions, feel free to hop in the Zoom to ask me, reply to this post, or just post your own questions on this board.
I'll be watching the presentations with you guys, too!
Hey all -- sorry for the delay on Monique's video today. She is planning on getting it up there today, but she was up all night getting everything ready for you and is still catching up on her rest. Thanks for your patience!
Check your email for the link to the Daily Schedule to view the videos!
Congratulations to Naysa P.– you've won today's drawing prize of my Art Journaling Doo-dads.
You'll be receiving by email a collection of my original hand-painted watercolor elements perfect for adding soulful touches to your art journal pages.
Don't worry if your name wasn't picked today...I'll be drawing a new winner for each of the next two days, so there's still time to enter!
Is there a recording of the zoom welcome? Time zone differences playing havoc. Without the welcome email I am wondering where everything will be hosted.
Here I was thinking the retreat started on the 3rd and finished on the 6th so have been going through the lessons and thought it strange some posts/files etc were unavailable and I wasn’t seeing chat to then actually check the dates and find out it starts on 6th. Oh well I'm ahead instead of behinf as I live in Australia. Lol🤦♀️
Three freebie downloads:
Belinda Basson: Coffee paper printable and embroidered jean ephemera
Pam Hausner: Interdependence - A mindful art practice and kindness coins pdf.
Einat Kessler: The are of binding pdf
So hard to just pick 3 top presentations because I want to watch them all. But the ones I am most excited about are:
Therese Bradley: Your Emotions Have a Message-Learn to Decode them
Belinda Basson: Creating Layers in your Journal
Monique Leslie: Paper Doll Bookmarks
Aloha everyone. I am just a Hawaii girl living in a Kansas City, Missouri world at the moment. Been here since 2021 for hubby's job and making it our second home since our eldest daughter and family lives close by in Kansas. I consider myself a newbie at junk journaling even though I have attended the last 2 retreats. I find myself diving into all kinds of crafting, that sometimes I am just too overwhelmed with trying to learn all the skills. I have several junk journals that I have started and never finished, but also a handful that are complete. I just love to learn new skills and techniques, that even if I don't complete a project I am happy to be learning. Looking forward to another great retreat.
I thought I had introduced myself to the group but could not find the post. I retired a couple of years ago and began crafting to keep my mind engaged. I have been adding supplies to my junk journal box. Maybe this time I can keep up, although it is supposed to be sunny tomorrow and my garden is calling me.
It's come to our attention that the time on the Bingo card says 4pm -- that's incorrect. The Kickoff Call time is 5:30pm Pacific time. Can't wait to see you all there!
We have some really amazing giveaways that you will LOVE! Head over to the Attendee Portal and see what we've got for you!

Don't know how to update my previous post...but made some updates after watching the video to the end...got a little carried away and have some goofs...
My sugar skull.

Pumpkins...first time to emboss something. Bought it 1 or2 years ago and never used it. My gold splatter is a bit too big but oh well
Rolling right through some of these today. Bottom right corner is the back.
Thanks Amy and Shannon
I wanted to share this. Just getting started. It's the kind of doodles that calm my anxiety. Thanks Consi. Always love your projects.
I finally finished Kerem Tamir's lesson.

Hello, I'm a newbie. I want to thank everyone for the retreat! I enjoyed every bit of it. I am ready to jump in and begin this fun journey with all of you. You are all so talented and make beautiful works of art! I will need to start small as I do not have all the fun things to begin with, but that's okay, I can be creative. That's what it's all about anyway. This is a picture I recently did that I could include in a junk journal. Again, thank you everyone for sharing.

I enjoyed the ephemera pack! I accidentally used different measurements 🤪 so I just went with it. I found a silly image from a magazine and my little pocket ended up with a tuck spot in front and behind for sentiments. I made a closure for the front pocket Bu gluing the bottom half of a snippet of paper.

Much appreciation to Monique and Kristi for all their hard work putting this retreat together with really generous and talented crafters!! THANK YOU!!

Not sure why some allowed me to make an X and others highlighted the text, but I got a bingo! First time ever!
Wow. Thank you to all who put this retreat together. I have been caring for my partner after a knee replacement, so I have not been able to spend any real time trying out all the wonderful things I have watched. So, so glad I went for the All Access pass.
For me the greatest take-away from this retreat is the realization that my creations have solely been to give to others - I have not created for myself. I have decided that I am going to start a junk journal and try to spend a little time each week adding to it in some way. I am so excited about this idea! Thanks again to all who made this happen!

You have all inspired me to create in a new style. I can’t choose just one favorite. I will be using several techniques like the hidden pocket, mini art journal, envelopes in a flip flop journal, and so much more. Thank you everyone for the knowledge, free patterns and projects. Happy crafting!
Thank you Kristi and Monique and all the presenters for a wonderful retreat. I learned so much and feel liberated to express myself in junk journaling and art.
I have really been enjoying this retreat. I would have to say getting to meet the hosts, presenters and attendees as well as learning, exchanging ideas, and having a sense of a newfound community has been most memorable to me. ❤️❤️❤️ Stay crafty.
I had to work all week so I didn't get a chance to really make anything but I can't wait until the weekend to try out some of the projects. I did get fabric and lace to do Kristi's cover. Yay!!
Here is my first bingo line, still working on the rest but I do have #BINGO

The biggest way the retreat has transformed my journal making is that I think I am finally brave enough to try and do a journal cover with fabric rather than paper. I also want to extend a big Thank you! to all the presenters for providing freebies. The sugar skulls, gratitude journal, planner elements and Monique’s woodland kit are in my top favorites but I love them all. My most memorable moments were all the Lunch and Learn sessions. And finally here is a picture of my completed bingo card.

All right! I filled my Bingo Card before the retreat is over. It's probably the only retreat or summit Bingo I've ever been able to completely fill. 🤣

My most memorable moment is hanging out in the zoom chat with the speakers and attendees. Thank you for sharing so much of your time with us! ❤️

Bingo! Working my way to filling the card if I can.

Today I'm congratulating Margie (bronx...) the winner of the printable hand painted paper pack.
Margie, you'll receive an email from me: Therese@ThereseBradley.Art
later this morning with access instructions.
Congratulations Margie!!!
Thank you everyone for joining in the drawing.
If you weren't one of my lucky winners, you can paint your own art papers. I've started a series of painting Easy Peasy Art Papers on my YouTube channel, search for Therese Bradley Art.
I'm able to watch Monique's Flippity Flop Journal video now! Just wish lighting was better in video!
BINGO! Yay!

So far the coolest thing I have learned is the sassy snippet roll.

In stead of the sugar skulls, I made Art Nouveau tags. Will colour and embellished as I use it.

My flippety flopity journal. Still have to do the embellishing and tyding up
My version of the Cricut Fall embellishments project. I plan on adding this to one of my junk journal pages. Thanks Elena for sharing your design!

BINGO!

Your flowers are fabulous but don't they get crushed if they are inside?
KASSY IS LIVE! Come hang out and ask questions!
Congratulations to Patricia (tour...) the winner of today's drawing for the printable handpainted paper pack.
Patricia, you'll receive an email from me: Therese@ThereseBradley.Art later this morning with access instructions.
I'm drawing a lucky winner each day of the retreat, so if you haven't signed up yet go do that!
Congratulations Patricia!!!
💗
@Kristi Stone your lace journal reminded me of a photo album my mom had. Same concept. You sparked me to go thrifting.
I am so sad! I received a huge box from Michael's with a storage cube and extra dividers but UPS was not able to transport the box without significant damage. I was able to exchange the damaged storage cube at Michael's but now I don't have all of that cardboard to cut out my junk journals. 😪 I really did not order it just to get the box but I thought it would be very useful. Oh well.....
Is there anyone here from Boynton Beach, FL. Or near by??
Hello from Ohio! I'm Loraine mother of 3 & grandmother of 9 children. This is my second Junk Journal Retreat! I luv learning new techniques! Thanks for all of the inspiration!

I enjoyed making these interactive pages!

Hello! I am joining from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and am really excited to see creative ideas for junk journaling. I have been trying to create a faith journal for some time but can't seem to get it off the ground so looking for inspiration! Am excited to see Keren Tamir's Hidden Messages of the Soul, Tamar Perry's Six interactive elements and Monique Leslie's Magical Hideaways. I usually find my creative outlet through mini albums (for other people) and card making and am looking for a new outlet that is not as conventional.
Hello everyone! I’m joining B from SW Iowa. I’m so excited to get started. I had CC a full day today and missed all the cuteness. I have really enjoyed looking at all the projects you have made!
I’m new to building a junk journal, or at least new to building something that has more than blank watercolor paper in it. So I can’t wait to learn from all of you. I am often homebound due to some health issues and art classes like these have really helped me keep my positive perspective! I can’t wait to meet you all. Please say hi if you’ve made it this far reading my post! I love meeting people to art with! Happy arting everyone! ♥️
Hi everyone! It's so nice to be part of this community again. Nice to meet everyone!
I live in Ontario Canada with my wife. We are both crafty and artsy and have a lot of fun creating together. We live with our two spoiled cats who match this theme completely!
I've said it before and I will say it again, art journaling has saved my life. Creating in such a free way has become my go to coping method and it also brings me so much joy. I teach EFL from home and for various reasons am often housebound. I feel so much gratitude for what art journaling and art in general has given to my life. i am also so grateful for this incredible community!

Downloaded all the freebies from today's presenters.
Joining you all from Wausau, WI. Over the years, I have tried my hand at many different mediums of handicrafts. Only recently have I entered the world of hand made cards.
