My Retreat Learning Experience
I downloaded these 3 Freebies: Junk Journal Kit, 20 Junk Journal Embellishments: You can make with your Cricut and interdependence – a mindful art practice. I also signed up for the Mixed Media Collage Clusters Email Class.
The cool thing that I’ve learned is not to throw away envelopes. Keep them to make junk journals.
My most memorable retreat moment is watching Einat Kessler’s presentation: Junk Journal from Start to Finish. That’s why I joined the retreat to learn to make a junk journal, and even though I haven’t done it yet, at least I now know how to make one. I just have to get some white cardstock to print out the pages. I can’t wait to start making some Junk Journals.
The biggest way that the retreat has transformed my creative journal making is to look at everything with a creative lens to see their potential in making junk journals.
I’ve enjoyed the retreat immensely, and all the presentations were awesome. I just wish that it had been longer. Thanks Everyone!!!!

Reading your reflection made me smile because it captures that spark you get when a creative retreat opens your eyes to possibilities hiding in everyday things. As you talked about discovering new techniques, it reminded me of a moment during an online management class when a simple project shifted how I looked at resources and problem solving. Your excitement about turning envelopes into art feels like the start of a fun, evolving habit that will only grow as you dive into your first junk journal.
