Nanny Camp
Hey y'all. I've been out of the action here as I've been visiting my grand-baby the last week and a half.
I'm Therese (ter•race) Bradley and am one of the speakers in this awesome, transformational Art & Junk Journal Retreat that Kristi and Monique are hosting.
I'm a credential high school art teacher and taught high school art for over 10 years.
Almost 10 years ago I found myself in that deep dark pit called depression. I did all the "regular" things to help, and they did a little bit, but I was still in the pit.
Then one day, I picked up my sketch book and made what I later found out was an expressive art journal page. I discovered I could "say things with colors and shapes that I couldn't say any other way - things I had no words for" Just like Georgia O'Keeffe.
Expressive Art Journaling has become the most important tool in my tool box to help me return to feeling again, to wonder, to exploration, to creativity, to myself. Expressive Art Journaling is a soul-restoring path back to wholeness for me.
Expressive Art isn't about perfection and performance, it's a way to make sense of our messy life. I can teach you to make pretty pages (and I do in Learn to Think Like an Artist While Building Mixed Media Collage Clusters) but I'm more interested in guiding you back to yourself. So you can see your beauty, not your brokenness. So you can create from a place of courage, not from a place of fear. So you can reconnect with your inner wisdom.
My heart is full and my fingers are itching to play!
Ohhh now I can’t wait! This sounds perfect!
